As a caribbean native, mango season is one time of year I truly look forward to. We have so many mango trees in my neck of the woods, that they fall off the tree and literally rot. There are just too many mangoes for any single group of people to really consume and make use of.
We use it in a few dishes, make drinks with them, eat them as is, and all we can, but that still leaves plenty on the roads.
Culture shift when I get to the states and see mangoes being sold by the pound. The price of a single mango here, could literally buy about a dozen in the islands. Simply amazing I tell ya.
